2021 marks an important milestone for PEARonline. In December 2006 Simon Thornton launched one of the first dedicated LP communications platforms for the private capital markets. His early career managing investor relations and fundraising for BC Partners and working as an LP at Landmark Partners positioned him to recognise the importance of secure, intuitive, and cost-effective reporting tools.
Since those early days, educating the industry that LPs’ reporting expectations could be met securely without unnecessary complexity or cost, the company has grown geographically and by asset class. Over the last fifteen years, 20,000 LPs have used PEARonline to access over a million documents.
Commenting on the last 15 years PEARonline Founder & CEO Simon Thornton said: “PEARonline has always been about solving problems for GPs and LPs. We have built the service based on our team’s experiences working in PE funds, with a goal to provide something that is easy to use and cost-effective. Too many services are not built with alternative assets in mind; they’re generic and therefore clumsy, while their pricing models don’t offer the flexibility and transparency required for PE fundraising and reporting. 2020 was PEARonline’s most successful year to date despite the many challenges we all faced, illustrating the resilience of the asset classes we serve. 2021 will see a major upgrade to the service, providing the infrastructure to enable us to support our growing customer base and develop new areas of the service in the coming years.”
